Parents and Toddlers

The ‘Toddler Club’ is run for parents and/or carers and their children from new-born babies to school age.  All are welcome – of any faith or none and of any race or culture.

We are open at Hendon Baptist Church Hall, on Tuesday morning from 10am to 12 noon.  It is run by two or three volunteers from St Mary’s Church with some help from two Hendon Baptist Church members. We have had long experience with children, in education and child care. We provide toys, books, games and activities such as dough and painting, and provide refreshments of fruit and water for the children at about 11am and tea or coffee for the adults when they arrive. We usually finish with a music, singing and movement session.

The purpose of the club is to provide, as a service by the churches, a place where parents and carers can meet and talk while their children play. We make a small charge to cover expenses. We are supported by the Barnet Pre-School Learning Alliance and they provide information relevant to young families and children.  A link worker visits us at least once a term and she keeps us in touch with activities for leaders in Toddler Clubs.

We moved from St Mary’s Church Hall at Easter 2009 as the hall needs re-building and re-furbishing and hope to return when there are suitable premises. We hope to continue with a Toddler Club at Hendon Baptist Church too.
