Introducing the Rev'd Rachel Greaves

It was announced last week that the Rev'd Rachel Greaves would be joining us in Hendon to continue her curacy at St Mary's and Christ Church. She will be licensed on Sunday 29th March - this will be via Zoom. We hope to record this service so that we can share it this week.

Rachel writes: "Hello!! I know that this comes to you in the midst of a really tough, frightening and worrying time, please know that you are in my prayers. I'll keep this brief and light-hearted, as I'm finding humour the tonic to keep my spirits up in these strange times. I am very much looking forward to meeting you all in person when we are able to, even if we might still be standing a broom's-width-apart! I am sure that I will be able to speak/see some of you before the restrictions are lifted either on the phone or through virtual means.

A little bit about me: I love food, travel (I did a mad cap trip to give or take 19 countries in 6 months in 2014), meeting new people, being creative (recently I learnt how to make shoes). My first degree was in fine art. My call to ordination came out of a time of being seriously ill following an emergency appendectomy in 2009. I'm passionate about helping people go deeper in their journey with Jesus and/or get to know him if they haven't yet been acquainted. I trained for ordination at Trinity College Bristol and was ordained deacon in June 2018 and ordained priest in June 2019. The first half of my curacy was at St Michael's Highgate and I look forward to continuing my curacy in Hendon with you. I am told the bagels are first class!"

Please pray for Rachel as she prepares to move and begin ministry in this season where parish life is having to evolve in new ways. She'll be able to introduce herself when she is settled.
